My Coaching Process

We Find What Drives Your Creativity, and What’s Blocking It

You probably already have an idea or project in mind that you can’t quite figure out how to achieve. The stress and dread that comes whenever you sit down to create is something we all struggle with as creatives. I shine a lens on where you are in your creative practice, listen to how you speak about your own creative work and ask lots of questions. Through understanding what lights you up, what motivates you and what you value we can build a strong foundation of authenticity - where a truly sustainable creative practice begins.

We Build A Structure & Develop Good Habits

I work with you to build a structure for habit formation. In order to build a creative practice that is sustainable and fulfilling, we have to work with what motivates you and create a custom set of joyful rituals. If you don’t enjoy the work, we find ways to either eliminate that work, or make the work more enjoyable. If you’re not having fun, you’re not creating with your whole heart.

“Reviving Creativity”

My talk on reviving your creativity and dealing with burnout through making zines is a good primer on my vibe and what I can offer as a coach. Watch it here, or on YouTube.

My Own Creative Practice

In addition to my design work I draw comix and make zines - since the early days of web comics in the 2000s to my semi-daily journal comix of today I have cultivated a creative practice that helps me appreciate the small moments of life and connect with others through comix.

My life purpose is to spread the idea that not only can anyone develop a creative practice, but it’s important for us to inspire each other through sharing our experiences. I’ve had people start their own journal comix or start drawing zines and I think that’s just the coolest thing.

If this sounds like something that would motivate you, I’d love to be your coach.

Companies I’ve designed stuff for

I have over 20 years of experience as a User Experience and Interface designer in games and tech. I’ve worked on AAA games and Indie games, photo editing apps and Amazon ads, Kindle devices and mobile experiences. I’ve been an art director, interface designer, social game designer and swag maker.
